South Jersey Ex-Con Indicted In Deadly Driveway Shooting: Prosecutors

An Atlantic County grand jury indicted an ex-convict accused of killing a Pleasantville man in a driveway, authorities said.

Jerome Holley, 41, of Absecon, was indicted on Tuesday, Feb. 6, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said. Holley has been charged in the killing of 45-year-old Mamadou Toure.

Pleasantville police responded to a shooting on West Pleasant Avenue at around 8:41 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9, 2023. Officers found Toure unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the driveway and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Holley was charged on Friday, Dec. 1, with first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose, second-degree possession of a handgun without a permit to carry, and second-degree certain persons not to possess firearms.

Holly was being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility. He'll remain there until his trial.
